Hungry for more techno-oriented sounds outside the scope of General MIDI, he soon discovered trackers and demos through local BBS' and moved to writing sample-oriented music. With the rise in popularity of the internet in the late 90s, he began submitting and sharing his music through scene.org and other communities. After earning his degree in Game Art & Design in 2005, he began working full-time as a freelance motion graphics artist. Today, he works with his wife at Gaia Online, creating visual effects and mini-games for virtual worlds. darkhalo's music is mainly influenced by electronic genres: ambient, drum&bass, house, and IDM, but often other influences play a strong part - videogames, movies, and art, for example, have all been pivotal influences in his work over the years. |
